Yeah, I know, I keep asking myself. The plan was for me to spend November preparing for the Seattle Marathon. No, I'm not a runner, I'm just walking a half-marathon, but for me, this much effort requires training. Many hours per week. And when I haven't been training I've been preparing for the build, getting materials, tools, etc., and cleaning up the garage.
Now, it's less than two weeks before the marathon, and I'm getting antsy to start building. Below you'll see my plywood-and-sawhorse worktable, festooned with strakes--I'm not going to have to define strakes again, am I? -- and rub rails, and some other stuff. Soon, any minute now, well any week now, I'll be gluing these things together with epoxy, and then covering them all with epoxy, and then doing a pile of other things. I can't wait.
In the meantime, I did mention our Sunday trip to Harbor Freight, right? Where I got the C-clamps? Yeah. Well I also got other stuff -- and checked out the Boat Trailer deal (they have a low-cost, barely-adequate trailer on their website).
It turns out you hafta buy the boat trailer from the website -- and pay the shipping. Too bad. But still, it'll be many hundreds less than the other trailer available, so I'll probably go for it. Premature now, though -- it'll be a few months before the mast (and everything else) is ready.
